Born in Białystok on January 11, 1937, he began his career in 1958 after graduating from the State Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw. Boukołowski worked with several Warsaw and regional stages, including the Ateneum Theatre, the Polish Theatre in Warsaw, the Polish Theatre in Cieszyn, and the Polish Theatre in Bielsko-Biała, and later co-founded the Adekwatny Theatre in Warsaw with Magda Teresa Wójcik in 1964.
He was also a member of SPATiF-ZASP from 1958 to 1982 and received distinctions including the Gold Cross of Merit, the Medal of the National Education Commission, the Awarded Cultural Activist medal, and the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
