Hayden Thompson, an American singer, songwriter and rockabilly musician, died on December 31, 2025, at age 87.

Born in Booneville, Mississippi, Thompson was a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He formed the Southern Melody Boys in high school and later joined the Dixie Jazzlanders, touring Mississippi.

After relocating to Memphis, Tennessee, he recorded “$16.88” for Kapp Records and released his debut album, Here’s Hayden Thompson, in 1967. He left the music industry in the early 1970s, later worked as a limo driver, and returned to performing in the mid-1980s on European rockabilly revival tours.

Hayden Thompson (March 5, 1938 – December 31, 2025) was an American singer, songwriter and rockabilly musician. He is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
