Gary Blaylock, an American baseball player and right-handed pitcher who played for the St.

Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees, died on February 9, 2026. Born Gary Nelson Blaylock in Clarkton, Missouri, he appeared in Major League Baseball during the 1959 season.

Signed by the Cardinals in 1950, he spent nine seasons in their farm system before reaching the majors, and he later resumed his minor league pitching career after his time with St. Louis and New York.

Gary Nelson Blaylock (October 11, 1931 – February 7, 2026) was an American professional baseball player, coach, scout and manager. A right-handed pitcher, he appeared in Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees during the 1959 season. The native of Clarkton, Missouri, was listed as 6 feet (1.83 m) tall and 196 pounds (89 kg).
