Eric Dane, an American actor known for his role on “Grey’s Anatomy,” died on February 19, 2026.

Born Eric William Melvin on November 9, 1972, he appeared in multiple television roles in the 1990s and 2000s, including a recurring part as Jason Dean on “Charmed.” He was later cast as Dr. Mark Sloan on the ABC medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” appearing from 2006 to 2012 and again in 2021.

Dane also appeared in films including “X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Marley & Me,” “Valentine’s Day,” “Burlesque” and “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.”
