Eberhard Gill, a German researcher and space systems engineer known for work in GNSS technology and tracking, space system engineering, multi-satellite systems and systems engineering, died on July 16, 2026, aged 65.

He was a professor of space systems engineering at Delft University of Technology and authored or co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications. Gill was also a Fellow of INCOSE and an Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, and served as co-editor of Systems Engineering, the journal of INCOSE.

His work extended to the International Astronautical Federation’s Astrodynamics Committee, Space Systems Committee and Space Education and Outreach Committee.
