David Scott, an American politician and member of the House of Representatives since 2003, died on April 22, 2026, at age 80.
He served as the U.S. representative for Georgia’s 13th congressional district from 2003 until his death.
Born in Aynor, South Carolina, Scott attended high school in Daytona Beach, Florida, earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida A&M University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also worked in business and founded Dayn-Mark Advertising in 1978.
