
Bruno Cipolla, an Italian rowing coxswain, died on February 15, 2026, at the age of 73 in Oderzo, Italy.
He had his best achievements in the coxed pairs with Renzo Sambo and Primo Baran, winning a European title in 1967 and an Olympic gold medal in 1968. For that Olympic victory, Cipolla received a car from Fiat.
His career was interrupted for six months by a motorcycle collision after the Olympics, and he retired in 1971.
