George W.
Barber, an American museum owner and philanthropist, died on February 15, 2026, at the age of 85. Born George Warren Barber Jr.
on September 11, 1940, he was an Alabama businessman and real estate developer. Barber served as chairman of Barber Dairies, the family company founded by his father in the 1930s, and sold the business to Dean Foods in 1998. In 2003, he established Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. He also commissioned the Bamahenge monument, which was designed and built by artist Mark Cline and installed at George’s Barber Marina.
