
Billy McCullough, the Northern Irish footballer who made more than 250 appearances for Arsenal and was capped 10 times for Northern Ireland, died on March 13, 2026.
Born in Carrickfergus, he first played for Portadown before joining Arsenal in 1958 for £5,000. A left-back, he made his debut against Luton Town on 26 December 1958 and became the club’s regular left back after Len Wills was moved to right back in 1959–60.
He wore the No. 3 shirt for six seasons and was noted for his consistency and fitness.
