Barry Mpigi, a Nigerian politician, died on February 19, 2026.
Born in 1961, he was from Rivers State and served in the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing the Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo constituency. He was first elected to the lower house in 2011 and was reelected to a second term in December 2016.
In 2019, he was elected Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He also served as the senator for the southeast senatorial district of Rivers State in the 10th Assembly and was a member of the Nigerian 9th Assembly during Buhari’s second tenure.
