Abu Kasenally, a Mauritian politician and physician who served as an MP from 2005 to 2014, died on April 27, 2026.

Born on August 10, 1941, in Rivière du Rempart, Mauritius, he practised surgery from 1974 and later served as Regional Health Director and Principal Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health. He resigned from the Civil Service in 2000 to enter politics.

After an unsuccessful candidacy in the 2000 National Assembly elections, he was elected in 2005 in Constituency No. 15 (La Caverne-Phoenix) and later served as Minister of Public Utilities and then Minister of Housing.
