Victoria Okojie, Registrar/CEO of the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria, died on September 14, 2026, aged 66.
A Nigerian librarian, academician and administrator, she was the first Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the council, a Federal Government of Nigeria parastatal. Okojie also served as a past president of the Nigerian Library Association and as a member of the governing board of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions.
She lectured in the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Abuja. Her training included a master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Ibadan and a PhD in Library and Information Science from Ahmadu Bello University.
