Born Dorothea Mavor Moore in Toronto on April 11, 1947, she was the daughter of Darwina (née Faessler) and actor and cultural icon Mavor Moore, and the granddaughter of theatre legend Dora Mavor Moore. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, graduating in 1967 with the Principal’s Medal of Honor.
Her career spanned nearly six decades, from 1959 to 2017.
