R. Ramaswamy, an Indian writer and journalist, died on April 10, 2026, at age 88.
Born in Bangalore on October 29, 1937, he also worked as a biographer, social activist and environmentalist. He authored more than 50 books and thousands of articles in Kannada and English. Ramaswamy received the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award in 1992 for best work in social sciences and was honoured by Kannada University, Hampi, with the Nadoja Award in 2015.
