Ramesh Chandra Sen Politician dead at age 85

Ramesh Chandra Sen, a Bangladeshi politician and former Jatiya Sangsad member, died on February 7, 2026, at the age of 85.

He represented the Thakurgaon-1 constituency from 2009 to 2024 and served as Minister of Water Resources from 2009 to 2014. Sen was born on April 30, 1940, in Mondaladum village at Ruhia Union in Thakurgaon District, then in Bengal Province, British India.

He earned a B.Com degree from Carmichael College, Rangpur, in 1963. He was also a presidium member of the Bangladesh Awami League and chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the water resources ministry.

Ramesh Chandra Sen (30 April 1940 – 7 February 2026) was a Bangladeshi politician who was a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Thakurgaon-1 constituency from 2009 to 2024, and the Minister of Water Resources from 2009 to 2014.
