Nora Uribe Activist dead at age -1

Nora Uribe, a Venezuelan politician and diplomat, died on February 7, 2026, at age 87 or 88.

A member of the Fifth Republic Movement (MVR), she served as minister of communication and information from 2002 to 2003 under President Hugo Chávez and often appeared with him on the talk show “Aló Presidente.” Uribe initially sought a seat in the National Assembly, and Chávez later dismissed her from her post after a technical error disrupted one of his speeches. She also held diplomatic roles, including serving as ambassador to El Salvador in 2010.

Nora Margarita Uribe Trujillo (1938 – 7 February 2026) was a Venezuelan politician of the Fifth Republic Movement (MVR).
