Miguel Ángel J.
Márquez Ruiz, a Mexican veterinarian, died on May 4, 2026, at age 83. Born in Mexico City on September 11, 1942, he had more than 50 years of professional practice and received international recognition for his contributions to veterinary medicine.
He taught at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and carried out work in clinical fields, including avian medicine and the history of medicine, science and technology. He also published more than 400 works and delivered more than 500 lectures in more than 40 countries.
