Jorge Kahwagi, a Mexican businessman, politician and boxer, died on September 30, 2026, aged 58.
Born Jorge Antonio Kahwagi Macari in Mexico City on May 28, 1968, he became known in business and politics as well as in the ring. He served as a member of Mexico’s PVEM political party and was elected as a commissioner of the Mexican government in 2000, with assignments that included work on commissions involving the United States and Japan.
Kahwagi also held the post of vice president of the tabloid newspaper La Crónica de Hoy and was widely identified as a media personality and former professional boxer.
