Carlos Miguel Suárez, the Mexican actor and salesman known professionally as Carlos Miguel, died on October 19, 2026.
His full name was Carlos Miguel Suárez Soto. During the 1980s and 1990s, he appeared in a number of Televisa telenovelas, including Dos Mujeres, un Camino and Tú y yo.
In Tú y yo, he played Poncho, a role that perhaps brought him his greatest public recognition. Suárez also worked as a salesman. In Mexico City, he was kidnapped and taken to the school where his two daughters studied. The kidnappers asked his daughters what time it was, using the question to show Suárez that they had access to the girls. He was held for four days, suffered injuries to his mouth and was robbed of some of his savings. Following the kidnapping, he became a taco salesman, working at a small corner stand in Mexico City. His career thus included roles in Televisa dramas as well as work selling food, first as an actor and later at the stand.
