John Bertalot, an English organist who served at Blackburn Cathedral in England and at Trinity Church in Princeton, New Jersey, died on February 22, 2026.
Born in Maidstone, Kent, on September 15, 1931, he was inspired to study the organ during a childhood visit to Canterbury Cathedral. He studied at Shoreham Grammar School, trained under Harold Darke at the Royal College of Music in London, and later was an organ scholar at Lincoln College, Oxford, and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
