Jim Miller, the Australian footballer known formally as James Henry Miller, died on August 7, 2026, aged 107.
Born in Footscray, Victoria, on May 30, 1919, he went on to play in the Victorian Football League for Footscray, making his debut in 1938 and appearing in 131 games over the next 11 years. He had come up through the Footscray District Football League before joining the club, later served in both the army and the RAAF during World War II, and finished his senior career with Yarraville in the Victorian Football Association, where he was captain-coach before retiring in 1949 because of a leg injury.
