Holly Warlick American college basketball coach dead at age 67

Holly Warlick, the American college basketball coach who led the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, died on March 7, 2026.

Warlick served as head coach of the Lady Volunteers from prior to the 2012–13 season through the end of the 2018–19 season, after replacing Pat Summitt. Born Frances Hollingsworth Warlick in Knoxville, Tennessee, she played for Tennessee under Summitt as a three-time All-American point guard, set several school records, and was the first player in Tennessee sports history to have her jersey retired at the end of her playing career.

She was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001 and was named to the 1980 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team.

Frances Hollingsworth “Holly” Warlick (born June 11, 1958) is an American college basketball coach who was head coach for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. She replaced head coach Pat Summitt prior to the 2012–13 season and held the position until the end of the 2018–19 season. Warlick was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.
