He made two appearances for the Uruguay national team in 1992, marking his debut with a goal in a 2-0 win over Australia on June 21 before playing again against Ecuador on July 4.
In club football, he moved to Beijing Guoan in 1999, scored in a 3-3 draw with Shenyang Haishi later that month, and went on to join Guangzhou Geely in 2001, where he also found the net on debut. He later managed Guanacasteca.
