
Harry Kim, an American trumpeter best known for his work with the Phenix Horns and his long association with Phil Collins, died on April 10, 2026, of cancer.
Born and raised in New York City, he attended the High School for the Performing Arts and initially prepared for a career as a classical trumpeter. He later moved to Los Angeles, where he developed an interest in funk and jazz and toured with various show groups, R&B revues and big bands, including the Harry James Big Band.
During the disco era, he also worked with Tito Puente and Celia Cruz and further developed his arranging skills on disco productions.
