
God Bless, the Indonesian rock band and songwriter act founded in Jakarta in 1973, died on March 7, 2026.
The group was formed by Ahmad Albar, Jockie Soerjoprajogo, Fuad Hassan, Donny Fattah and Ludwig Lemans, and its music spanned hard rock, arena rock, progressive rock, heavy metal, glam metal and pop rock. God Bless gave its first concert on May 5, 1973, at Taman Ismail Marzuki, followed by the Summer 28 concert on August 16, the first open-air concert in Indonesia.
The band later opened for Deep Purple in Jakarta in 1975 and released its first album, Huma di Atas Bukit, in 1976.
