
Giuseppe Savoldi, the Italian footballer who played for Bologna, Napoli and the Italy national team, died on March 25, 2026.
A forward who played in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, he began his Serie A career with Atalanta in 1965 before moving to Bologna, where he made 201 appearances and scored 85 goals from 1968 to 1975. He later joined Napoli in 1975 for a world-record fee, becoming football’s first million-pound player.
