Abdikalyk Akmatov, a Kyrgyz actor and theatre personality, died on March 25, 2026.
Born in 1955 in Ak-Bulak, in the Nookat district of the Osh region, he began his career as a lighting technician in 1975 at the Osh Regional Drama Theater. He completed his acting studies at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow in 1978.
Akmatov was a member of the Union of Theater Workers and the Union of Cinematographers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
