A forward, he rose to prominence as the top scorer in the 1974 Campeonato Paulista with Botafogo de Ribeirão Preto, where he scored 88 goals. He later joined Corinthians and was part of the club’s state championship-winning squad in 1977.
Geraldão also played in Rio Grande do Sul football for Grêmio in 1981 and later for Internacional, where he won honors and finished as top scorer.
