Geoff Ablett, the Australian rules footballer and former Casey City Council member, died on April 29, 2026, aged 71.

Born Geoffrey Norman Ablett on March 13, 1955, he played in the Victorian Football League during the 1970s and 1980s. Ablett spent most of his career with Hawthorn, where he played 202 games on the wing, before short stints with Richmond and St Kilda.

He later served on Casey City Council and was elected mayor of the City of Casey in 2008 and again in 2013.

Geoffrey Norman Ablett (13 March 1955 – 29 April 2026) was an Australian rules footballer who played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s and 1980s. He later served as a member of the Casey City Council.
