Vice Admiral Sir Fabian Malbon, a British Royal Navy officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey, died on January 17, 2026, aged 79.

Born on October 1, 1946, he joined the Royal Navy in 1965 after attending Brighton Hove and Sussex Grammar School. He went on to command the frigates HMS Torquay and HMS Brave, and later served as commanding officer of HMS Brave and captain of the 9th Frigate Squadron in 1987.

In 1988, he became Director of Naval Service Conditions. He was Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey from 2005 to 2011.

Vice Admiral Sir Fabian Malbon, KBE (1 October 1946 – 17 January 2026) was a Royal Navy officer who also served as the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey from 2005 to 2011.
