
Edgardo Roque, a Filipino Olympic basketball player, died on April 12, 2026, at age 88.
Born on February 11, 1938, in Obando, Bulacan, in the Philippine Commonwealth, he competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics. Roque also made six Philippine national teams, including squads for the 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta and the 1963, 1965, 1966 and 1967 Asian Basketball Confederation tournaments in Taipei, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul.
He was an alternate for the 1968 Mexico Olympics. Roque played for Jose Rizal College, Ysmael Steel, YCO Painters and Mariwasa before retiring in 1974.
