Václav Hybš Czech musician, trumpeter and conductor dead at age 90

Václav Hybš, Czech musician, trumpeter and conductor, died on April 12, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on June 3, 1935, in Police nad Metují, Czechoslovakia, he began learning music as a child and later studied trumpet at the State Conservatory in Prague. During and after his studies, Hybš performed in several orchestras, including the spa orchestra in Poděbrady and the orchestra of Zdeněk Barták, which he joined in 1954.

He also worked with Ladislav Bezubka’s orchestra and performed in entertainment settings such as Circus Praga and Varieté Alhambra. Hybš was known for leading the Václav Hybš Orchestra.
