Dan McLean, a Canadian journalist and news anchor, died on April 28, 2026, at age 78.

McLean grew up in Orillia, Ontario, and began his journalism career at 15 with a part-time job at a Welland radio station. He went on to work in radio in several southern Ontario cities, including the Kitchener-Waterloo area, before taking news anchor jobs in Regina and Saskatoon.

In 1971, he joined CHCH-TV in Hamilton, where he became the anchor of the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts in 1980 and held those roles for much of his career. He later worked for Mix 106.5 FM in Owen Sound, Ontario.
