Born in Formosa Province, Argentina, he began his career in 1969 and went on to play for Club Atlético 1.º de Mayo and Sportivo Patria before moving to Paraguay with Club Guaraní. Centurión later became a Paraguay international and was among Deportes Tolima’s most important players after joining the Colombian club in 1981.
He also played for Deportivo Cali and Club Sol de América during a career that took him across Argentina, Paraguay and Colombia.
