Cavayé Yéguié Djibril, Cameroonian politician and president of the National Assembly, died on May 6, 2026, aged 86.
He held the post from 1992 to 2026, making him the longest-serving person to do so. Born in Mada on February 1, 1940, he served as a Member of the National Assembly for Mayo-Sava from 1983 and was a member of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement.
He also previously served as Second Vice-President of the National Assembly.
