Bobby Hunt, the American football player who spent parts of eight seasons in the American Football League with the Dallas Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, died on July 28, 2026, aged 85.
Born Robert Kenneth Hunt on August 15, 1940, in Lanett, Alabama, he played quarterback and defensive back at Auburn University before being drafted by the Dallas Texans in 1962. Hunt was named first-team All-AFL as a rookie and set a franchise rookie record with eight interceptions.
In 1964, he had four interceptions in a game against the Houston Oilers, including one returned for a touchdown, and he later finished with 10 interceptions in 1966.
