Ari Salin, a Finnish hurdler and sprinter who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics, died on March 4, 2026.
Born on January 20, 1947, he set Finnish records in both the 110 metres hurdles and the 400 metres hurdles. Salin won his first national title in 1968 in the 110 m hurdles and repeated as national champion in 1969.
He represented Finland at the 1969 European Athletics Championships in Athens and reached the final in the 400 m hurdles at the 1971 European Championships in Helsinki, finishing sixth.
