
Amanda Lathlin, a Canadian politician who represented The Pas-Kameesak in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, died on March 21, 2026, in Winnipeg at the age of 49.
A member of the New Democratic Party of Manitoba, she served in the legislature from 2015 until her death. At the time of her election, she became the first First Nations woman to serve in Manitoba’s legislature.
Born in The Pas on July 17, 1976, she was the daughter of former provincial cabinet minister Oscar Lathlin. Before entering the legislature, she worked for the University College of the North and served as a band councillor for the Opaskwayak Cree Nation.
