Ahmad Kaabour, the Lebanese singer, songwriter, composer and actor best known for the protest song “Ounadikom,” died on March 26, 2026, in Beirut, Lebanon, at the age of 70.

Born in Beirut on July 9, 1955, he studied theatre at the Lebanese University and was active from 1976 to 2026. Kaabour composed “Ounadikom” in 1975, at the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, and released it in 1976.

He played guitar and oud and remained identified with Arabic music throughout his career.

Ahmad Kaabour (Arabic: أحمد قعبور, romanized: Aḥmad Qaʿbūr; 9 July 1955 – 26 March 2026) was a Lebanese singer, songwriter, composer and actor. He is best known for his song “Ounadikom” which he composed in 1975 upon the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War.
