Orlando Wiet Surinamese-Dutch mixed martial artist dead at age 60

Orlando Wiet, a SurinameseDutch mixed martial artist, died on March 26, 2026, at the age of 60.

Born in Paramaribo, then in Dutch Guiana, on October 24, 1965, he was a world champion kickboxer, boxer and mixed martial artist. Wiet’s career ran from 1994 to 1998.

He began training in Purmerend with Cees van der Velden, later worked in Breda with Ramon Dekkers and Cor Hemmers, and also trained in Thailand. He fought at K-1 and It’s Showtime tournaments and took part in UFC 2 in 1994, representing Muay Thai.

Orlando Wiet (24 October 1965 – 26 March 2026) was a Surinamese-Dutch world champion kickboxer, boxer and mixed martial artist.
