Known as Dr. Abraham Mar Julios, he served as the Metropolitan Bishop of the Eparchy of Muvattupuzha of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church.
Born on May 25, 1945, in Kalloopara, Thiruvalla, Kerala, he entered the Infant Mary Minor Seminary in Thiruvalla in 1961 after his school education. He later studied philosophy at St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary in Vadavathoor, Kottayam, and theology at Propaganda College in Rome, and was ordained a priest by Metropolitan Zacharias Mar Athanasios. His ministry included parish work in Mycavu and Ounjil in Kozhikkodu, service as procurator and director of the Social Service Society of the Eparchy of Tiruvalla, and the founding of Matha Senior Secondary School in Thumboly in 1978. He also earned a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Mysore.
