Born in Copenhagen on January 1, 1936, he studied at Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College and later moved into politics after an early interest that included a period with the Communist Party of Denmark. Bach subsequently joined the Conservative People’s Party and served on the municipal council of Herlev Municipality before winning election to the Folketing in 1987, representing Copenhagen County.
He chose not to seek another term in 1998. Bach was also a merchant and was made a Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog.
