Zofia Zdybicka, a Polish Roman Catholic nun and philosopher, died on April 24, 2026, at the age of 97.

Born in Kraśnik, Poland, on August 5, 1928, she was a member of the Congregation of the Ursulines of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus and took the religious name Maria Józefa. Zdybicka specialized in ontology and the philosophy of religion and was a long-time professor at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.

She earned her doctorate in 1965, completed her habilitation in 1970 and was awarded the title of professor in 1988.
