Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, Moore played college football at Lincoln University before joining the Oilers as a defensive back. He appeared for the American Football League club from 1967 to 1969 and continued with the franchise in the National Football League from 1970 through 1977.
As a rookie, he returned 14 kicks for 405 yards. Moore later served as a Houston Texans ambassador for five years.
