Frank Bergemann, a German handball coach, died on November 7, 2026, aged 70.
Born on April 20, 1956, Bergemann coached HG Erlangen and CSG Erlangen before moving to Austria in 2000 to join Alpla HC Hard. Hard won the Austrian championship in 2003, and Bergemann was voted Coach of the Year that year.
From 2007 until his dismissal in March 2015, he coached HC Erlangen. During his tenure, the club rose to the second Bundesliga in 2008 and reached the first Bundesliga in 2014. In January 2016, Bergemann took over as coach of a Bundesliga club. His main occupation was sports teacher at the Albert-Schweitzer High School in Erlangen.
