The Dream Weavers, the American popular music vocal group known for its work in the 1950s, died on March 14, 2026.
Formed at the University of Florida by Gene Adkinson and Wade Buff, the group consisted primarily of the two musicians, with other members including Lee Turner, Eddie Newson, Sally Sanborn, Mary Carr and Mary Rude at various times. Adkinson handled baritone and ukulele, while Buff provided lead vocals.
The group’s name was chosen through a contest on a radio show, after a listener suggested that their song sounded dreamy and that they were “weavers of dreams.”
