Scott Tinsley, an American football coach, died on February 17, 2026, at the age of 62.
He served as head football coach at West Virginia State University in Institute, West Virginia, from 1992 through 1994 and at West Virginia University Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2011. Tinsley also coached at Nitro High School for 13 years before being named head coach at West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, West Virginia.
His career college football coaching record was 17–56, including a 6–37 mark at West Virginia Tech, where the program was discontinued after the 2011 season.
