Anna dePeyster, the British–Australian journalist and author known as Anna Maria dePeyster, died on February 17, 2026, at age 81.
Born Anna Maria Torv in Glasgow, Scotland, on June 30, 1944, she later became the second wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch and served as a director at News Corp. She was born to Jakob Tõrv, an Estonian merchant seaman, and Sylvia Iris Bodfish, a Scottish drycleaner’s shop assistant, and was raised in Australia after her family emigrated there.
