Born in Tokyo on August 15, 1988, he began his career in 2006 after enrolling at Iwakura High School’s commerce department. Shimizu later worked with Production Ogi before being represented by Shimizu Agency.
He was the son of Akira Shimizu, an impressionist, and the two appeared together on a 2011 Fuji Television broadcast. His early acting work included a role in the NHK taiga drama Kōmyō ga Tsuji, and he was also known for his work as an owarai tarento.
