
Orion Samuelson, an American agriculture broadcaster, died on March 16, 2026.
He was known for his broadcasts on agriculture and for explaining agribusiness and food production in an understandable way. Samuelson was born on March 31, 1934, on a dairy farm near Ontario, Wisconsin.
He worked as a radio journalist from 1960 to 2020 and was heard on WGN radio in Chicago for 60 years as the station’s head agriculture broadcaster. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2003. Samuelson died in Huntley, Illinois, at age 91.
